WebCAPE Language Placement Exam
The WebCAPE (Computer Adaptive Placement Exams) tests are designed to measure a student's
current skill level in French, German, and/or Spanish for placement consideration.
These tests are multiple-choice and evaluate grammar, vocabulary, and reading comprehension.
There are no listening or speaking components to these tests.
Appointment Times
Test Preparation
This is a ONE-TIME-ONLY test. Students should study before taking the test. While there are no official study guides available, students are encouraged to review textbooks from previous studies.
Fees
There is no charge for WebCAPE tests.
Identification
A current driver’s license, passport, or Lions ID card is required.
Time Limit
There is no time limit. Most students finish within 10 to 30 minutes and receive scores immediately upon completion of the test.
UAFS Policy
WebCAPE tests are used for placement purposes only. You do not earn credits merely by taking a WebCAPE test. If you wish to earn credits without taking a foreign language class, you should consider taking the CLEP exam instead.
